FAQ – Answers to your Questions

Sugu is partnered with Canadian Flyers International, a registered Transport Canada Flight Training Unit. UAV Ground schools are not certified by Transport Canada (TC) but Transport Canada requires UAV pilots to be trained, with the adequate right level of knowledge, experience and skillsets to safely operate drones. https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/publications/page-6557.html

Currently in the United States UAV pilots require licenses to Fly, Transport Canada will most likely adopt this model in the future. Thus operators who do not possess a sufficient knowledge in Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) will be required to go through the Transport Canada recommended training or they will not be able to operate.

If trained by UAV operators that are not part of flight school, in order to satisfy CARs, UAV pilots will eventually have to go to an approved flight training unit.
